Through a combination of working closely with a number of partner employers, to the different styles of learning we deliver, our graduates progress into their desired career path. In 2016, 100% of our leavers went on to further education, employment or training.
As a University Technical College, we are business-focused. Our students wear business dress, not uniform, and our learning environment feels more like a workplace than a school. Our working day is longer than a typical school day, giving students the chance to complete group and project work on site.
This is combined with our unique relationships with our partners, who work to ensure that we are training the workforce of the future. This includes the provision of internship placements in Year 10 and Year 12 and regular skills-based workshops.
Sir Charles Kao UTC also has a partnership with AllTogether, ensuring that our students receive independent support and advice. This is provided as an additional resource on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays where an All Together Guidance Professional offers personalised guidance services to students and helps support them with internship, job and university applications.
