Robert Halfon MP visited Sir Charles Kao UTC on Friday 17th March to celebrate all things technical for #ThinkUTC Day.
The day, planned by the Baker Dearing Educational Trust, aimed to celebrate the benefits of studying at a University Technical College. Alongside Robert Halfon MP, we were also visited by Denise Rossiter from Essex Chambers of Commerce and Graham Viner from Raytheon.
Students in Year 10 and 12 were on hand during the morning to showcase some of their current work, including a project by Year 12 using Raspberry Pi to create remote controlled cars. In the afternoon, Sir Charles Kao UTC opened for an open event, for future applicants to explore their opportunities with us.
Principal Michael McKeaveney said:
“Our students have seen a huge benefit to their learning by studying with us at Sir Charles Kao UTC and we are pleased to have had the chance to showcase this to a number of important visitors. Robert Halfon has been a great support of Sir Charles Kao UTC and we were incredibly grateful to welcome him”
