Students join us at two entry points, at the beginning of Year 10 and at the beginning of Year 12.
To join us in Year 10 we have no grade requirements for entry, however the ideal student at Sir Charles Kao UTC has an interest and aptitude in the subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths.
If applying before the 31st October for admittance in the following September, applications can either be directed to us or to Essex County Council. After this date, applications are considered as ‘late applications’ and therefore must be posted, emailed or handed in to us directly.
Once you’ve downloaded the form, you can send it in via post or to email@example.com.
To join us at Year 12 we require you to obtain 8 A*-C GCSE Grades or Equivalent, including English, Maths and a Science. To study for A Level, you will also be required to achieve a B or 5 (on the new 9-1 grading) in a related subject to your options.
We accept applications to our sixth form all year round and offer places on a first come first served basis. Applicants will be given a conditional offer after their meet the principal appointment, which will be confirmed on receipt of GCSE results in August.
We acknowledge all applications received. If we are oversubscribed, applications will be added to the waiting list until such time a place becomes available. More information can be found in our admissions policy. Download our admissions policy document here.
